We are excited to announce Springer School and Center’s annual fundraiser, A Springer Celebration!, was held this year on April 25th, 2007 at the Newport Syndicate in Newport, Kentucky. The event featured Nick Clooney, journalist, author and former host of cable’s American Movie Classics, as our guest speaker. The “movie-themed” event included cocktails & hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, live auction, dinner and program.
Just as Springer School and Center has brought about change in the lives of families and children affected by learning disabilities, Clooney – brother of the late singer/actress Rosemary Clooney and father of television and movie star George Clooney – talked about change, from his book, The Movies That Changed Us.
For more than 30 years, Springer has been empowering children to lead successful lives through its day school and center programs for students, parents, and teachers. Each year Springer hosts an event to increase awareness about Springer’s mission throughout the region and to raise funds for our scholarship and center programs. The event is a great way to build relationships with our supporters and of course, it’s also a great way to have fun! Previous events have featured Coach Marvin Lewis, Henry Winkler, and a tribute to Matth. Toebben.
We hope you were able to join us for this wonderful evening of movies, food, and celebration with friends and supporters of Springer School and Center.
