On April 30th, more than 320 friends and supporters gathered during Springer School and Center’s annual fundraiser, A Springer Celebration!, to celebrate the many ways in which Springer helps children realize their dreams. This year’s event, held at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza, raised approximately $120,000 for financial aid and program enrichment for educators, parents and children.
Guest speaker, Anne Ford was on hand to discuss her new book, On Their Own, while also sharing her perspective as the parent of an adult child with learning disabilities.
During the evening, Springer honored Kate Lawrence and Lee Carter as the 2008 Springer Champions. The Springer Champion Award recognizes individuals who demonstrate passion and commitment to children through their work or philanthropy.
Event Co-Chairs, Nick & Linda Spadaccini and Andy & Jackie Wilson; Auction Co-Chairs, Caryn Franke and Cindy Stephens; and Volunteer Chair, Lisa Gamblin provided leadership for the 2008 fundraiser.
For almost 40 years, Springer School and Center has empowered students with learning disabilities to lead successful lives. Today, Springer teaches learning strategies to 206 day-school students, provides information and referral services to the community, and offers programs for students, parents, and teachers. Springer School and Center is the only resource in the region dedicated entirely to learning disabilities. |
