For many years, it has been a tradition in Ms. Nagel's class to dip candles at Holiday Time. She likes to help the children make holiday presents, and this project works for all students since candles are used in the celebrations of the 3 major Winter Holidays -- Hannakuh, Kwanzaa and Christmas. Students practice emphasizing safety and working together. It is an exercise of patience, since it takes many dips to form a candle.  And, it's fun, as you can see below!
