CENTER PROGRAMS - Students, parents, teachers

PROGRAMS FOR PARENTS

  • Teach parents ways to help their child at home and at school
  • Provide interactions with other parents who share their concerns
  • Develop a better understanding of learning disabilities

Parents want to understand their child as a learner, advocate for their child when academic challenges arise, and work with the school to accomplish academic success.  Springer's parent classes are beneficial, giving parents insight, knowledge, and the language to use when working on behalf of their child.  Center staff is available to help parents decipher individual learning difficulties and figure out steps to encourage learning success.  The center has also become an access point for families who enroll in the school for intensive academic remediation.  Parents whose children are enrolled in the day school access center classes to become better informed about language-based learning disabilities.
