As of January 2020, Rosalyn Johnson relocated from Miami, FL to Savannah, GA to begin working as the Assistant Director of Clinical Training at The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Within this administrative role, Rosalyn is responsible for complete oversight and coordination of the counseling internship program, including the instruction, training, supervision, and evaluation of master’s and doctoral student interns, as well as training and supervising practicum students. Additionally, Rosalyn supervises master’s level counselors working in the university’s counseling center that are working towards obtaining their Georgia state licensure. Rosalyn also assist the Director of Counseling Services in the administration, implementation, and ongoing assessment of counseling services provided in the university’s counseling center. Furthermore, she develops and conduct trainings, outreach services, and workshops to address preventative and developmental needs of undergraduate and graduate students for various departments, faculty, and staff within the university.
Rosalyn maintains an active client caseload of undergraduate and graduate students, participates in rotating after-hours counselor on-call, provides crisis prevention and intervention services when necessary, consults with faculty, staff, and other university personnel about the developmental, career, and general mental health needs of undergrad and graduate students, and works collaboratively with them for the benefit of students and the university. Lastly, Rosalyn also teaches part time as an Adjunct Professor of Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at South University’s Savannah campus.
In her spare time, Rosalyn enjoys going to the movies, traveling, working out, spending time with family and with her Chihuahua, Bella, as well as volunteering and participating in global mission trips with her church. (2-18-20)
