
Wilson Reading System® Introductory Course PD
This is a 3-day course beginning January 28, 2026 and ending January 30, 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. each day.

The WRS Introductory Course provides an overview of the Wilson Reading System®, 4th Edition curriculum and serves as the prerequisite for WRS Level I Certification. This course provides teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to address the five principles of literacy instruction (Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Vocabulary, Fluency, and Comprehension). This course offers participants hands-on activities utilizing WRS research-based, multisensory strategies to maximize the learning of students with reading difficulties.
Course Content:
- Definition of dyslexia and how to identify common characteristics
- Appropriate student identification and placement
- Program implementation
- Progress monitoring, scheduling, and establishing a successful learning environment
- Principles of language structure
- Practice how to teach language with direct, multisensory methods
- Plan and deliver the 10-part Wilson® Lesson Plan while receiving modeling and feedback from a Wilson® Credentialed Trainer during the course
