The classic story of three goats and a troll came to life in Springer's library when Lower School Green Team students performed a Reader's Theatre version of the book The Three Billy Goats Gruff by Jerry Pinkney.

Lower School Blue and Gray Team social studies classes learned about westward expansion in the United States in a hands-on way. Using props and curriculum provided by the Cincinnati Museum Center, the students put themselves into the places of people alive during the westward expansion.

Lower School Blue and Gray Team students had an opportunity for fun with friends at their February social event. The students watched a movie and enjoyed a pizza and ice cream lunch. In the afternoon, students could choose to run an obstacle course with Springer Trustee Mike Wright or engage in Zumba with Social Media and Alumni Relations Coordinator Marika Huelskamp.

Lower School Blue and Gray Team students enjoyed a Winter Celebration packed with activities, games, refreshments and crafts, with a "Let It Snow" theme.

The Green Team celebrated Valentine's Day by decorating Valentine's bags, exchanging cards and enjoying refreshments together.

Green Team students celebrated the 100th day of school with activities that involved counting to 100 and seeing how many times they could write their first name, stand up and sit down, clap their hands or say the alphabet in 100 seconds. The students also enjoyed snacks, crafts and other activities.

Mrs. Gallant's and Ms. Havens' writing classes held Publishing Parties during which students shared the multi-chapter stories they had written, and classmates had the opportunity to ask questions and offer positive comments.

Lower School students had a very special visit from Springer parent Ashlee Boymel. Ashlee shared with her daughter Skye's class the children's book she authored recently. Published in November, 2020, Roller Coaster Shmoller Coaster paints a memorable picture of the ups and downs life can take.

Mrs. Walton's science class explored liquid, solid and gas phases of matter by observing what happened when they added baking soda to water and to vinegar. Her students improve their focus by beginning class with a few minutes of dancing!

Library Media Specialist Amanda Forbes led Green Team students on a "book walk" of the classic picture book by Ezra Jack Keats, The Snowy Day. After the book walk, students wrote and illustrated their own short stories, which will be posted in the library.

Students in Ms. Weber's class used photos of themselves and construction paper to create snowmen with a familiar face!

Lower School students celebrated fall with games, crafts and refreshments.
