Gordon Huston ’16

Gordon Huston graduated from Marburn Academy in 2020. He is currently studying biology at Thomas More University where he is a freshman and part of the Institute for Learning Differences. At Thomas More, Gordon is a member of the Student Activities Board, Biology Club and Campus Ministries. A poem that he wrote about his experiences at Boy Scout camp was recently selected to be published in the 2021 issue of Thomas More's literary magazine, WORDS.

In December of 2020, Gordon earned his Eagle Scout rank through the Boy Scouts of America. For his Eagle Scout project, he assembled "Comfort & Care" kits which he distributed to children and families affected by Epilepsy at Cincinnati Children's. An Epilepsy patient himself at Children's since the age of three, Gordon understood what families would need and appreciate in the days after being admitted, and sought donations that filled tote bags with personal care items, meal tickets for the hospital cafeteria, disposable masks and hand sanitizer. The kits also contained T-shirts and mugs emblazoned with the "Team Gordo-Raptors...Taking a bite out of Epilepsy" logo Gordon has used for several years in raising money for Epilepsy research. Gordon assembled 50 Comfort & Care kits for Epilepsy patients and had enough materials left to assemble 10 more kits for general neurology families.
