Springer’s Counselor evaluates and treats students whose academic progress is impacted by diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, inattention and impulsiveness. The Counselor serves students in individual, small group or classroom settings depending on the needs of each student. The Counselor works closely with parents, staff and outside therapists to design treatment plans to be implemented during the school day. The Counselor is a member of a highly-trained cross-functional team that supports student growth and development. Instructional Assistants are paired with a classroom teacher in the Lower School and in the Middle School. Instructional Assistants support student academic, social, and behavioral plans as determined by the classroom teacher, department, team and/or organization in ways which are consistent with Springer’s mission, values, and best practices.
