Kale Chips

Middle School science classes harvested the kale they had planted at the start of the school year and made kale chips. While they worked, they enjoyed mint lemonade made from mint they had grown in the classroom.

Middle School science classes experienced the division of chromosomes in a cell in a hands-on way by creating chromosomes of clay and crossing and dividing them as they would during cell meiosis.

Making Paper

Green Team students made their own paper by dissolving toilet paper in water and pressing the water out through a screen. They flattened the paper between sheets of waxed paper and let it dry.

As part of their study of electricity, Lower School Blue and Gray students built cardboard houses and wired them to batteries. Each room was equipped with working lights and switches.
